anyone with raf uk experience please help:)? hi, im 29 and work in sales i have been pondering the thought for some time of joining the raf and to basically get a trade, get some good skill sets and really get away from average day to day life which i find currently not very challenging. anyways there are more reasons but lets move on to the parts i need help with. ok so i have eventually done it, ive applied obviously meet all the basic requirments tattoo's ect ect however there is some things now worrying me. A: apptitude test, i do consider myself as bright but due to lack of effort in my past not very bright at lets say academic stuff past basic english and maths, im very bright however with lifes experiences that kind of thing. i done an IQ test and scored 100 which apparantley is average, is this enough to pass this test? secondly im going in as either : a survival equipment fitter or a supplier, now i know i can do these jobs but im not the fittest, im 29 smoked 10 yrs but recentley quit and really have not done any fitness until these last few months for years, i think i can make the benchmark for 1.5 miles in under 12mins 12 secs but once in the raf or in basic training how hard will i be pushed? dont want to embarass myself thats all. also lastly i have suffered from depression in the past and this is on medical records however i dont take medication and certainly not currently depressed. when they check my med records will they knock me back for this? it was quite bad at one point. thanks and hope you can answer these issues, i really want to do this but now im applying these are the issues that are worrying me. all in all though im a clean average weight / height polite and tidy ambitious young man, so with these issues ironed out i dont see me having any problems in the forces.
Does anyone know how to answer a Company Law question? Fixit Ltd operates a chemical factory. Jalal is a cleaner employed by the company. Jalal was allocated to the task of cleaning out a tank used to store toxic chemicals by Mike. Mike was at the time the Tank Foreman, reporting to Dave Watson the Deputy Manager of the Factory. Jalal was concerned at what he believed was a cursory risk assessment for the task he was allocated. He complained to Mike who told him that he had Just received a mobile call saying that the next load for that tank had just left the suppliers refinery, was a different chemical to the one which had been in the tank and that he had no choice but to get it cleaned out quickly. He told jalal that he had tried to contact Chris Tyler the health and safety manager at home but there was no reply and he couldn’t wait to get hold of him. Jalal subsequently entered the tank wearing the protective equipment which the company provided but which was inadequate for the chemical concerned. He died after becoming overcome by the fumes. Investigations carried out by the health and safety executive after the tragedy revealed that a competitor company had 33% more storage tanks for a comparable stock turnover. So did not have a similar “must – clean – now” pressures. The investigations also revealed that the company had a history of regularly changing specifications for their fixative products and experimenting with new chemicals from different suppliers. The company’s health and safety manager Chris Tyler had a long history of ill health and at the date of tragedy had been off work for nine weeks continuous with back trouble. Chris agreed with the company that he could be rung at home in the event of his advice being needed. This had been reported by Clive Smith to Amy Greenhouse, Managing Director, who had agreed with Clive that this was an acceptable compromise solution pending seeing whether Chris would recover full health and fitness. Furthermore, the Works Consultation Group (a joint committee comprised of members of management and staff who met quarterly to discuss workplace issues) had written formally to Clive Smith, the Factory Manager, Drawing his attention to what the Group perceived were inadequate risk assessments in the factory and asking that all supervisory and management staff to be sent on update training courses for risk assessment. Can Fixit Ltd be successfullyy prosecuted in respect of Jalal's death? in relation to wt d first idiot put...dis is not hmwk...am nt lazy dt i cant work it out maself...dis is like a old exam question so i can prepare for it properly in d summer...so if ppl realli wana help b positive unlike sum hu jus comment for no reason!!!
