Anyone use fitness machines like ellipticals/treadmills? I have an elliptical and I find that when I use it, I run twice as far on it than I do when I go running outside yet I'm not nearly as tired? So I was wondering are ellipticals as effective in using them to exercise? I'd like to get people's opinions on this and other machines that you use to exercise. Also, if anyone has found that another good exercise machine then feel free to talk about it.

I was just hoping someone who knows things about the exercise equipment at the gym could put together a list of what to do- how many reps of what and stuff like that. They have all the basic stuff- the leg things, the arm things... whatever. :o) Please- someone help me! Thanks!

Fitness machines: Am I imagining this? Or are we now being told many of the exercises we do will crack are backs, rip our ligaments, and put us into traction in 5 years, and that some of the machines will make us into putty. Not that I want to refute these claims with mere cynicism, but if these second thoughts about the effectiveness of a lat pull, or whatever, are being made, how many options for safe exercise are there? PS. I admit to using hyperbole.
Will the Red Fitness machine help me build lower back muscles? I recently got told by my doctor that I need to gain more lower back muscle (i went in for back pain) she recommended a phyiscal therapist, but I do not have the time to see one. I was wondering if I got a Red Fitness machine, if it would do something similar to help ease the back pain?

Which home fitness machine gives the best overall workout? I've realised I don't have room for a treadmill which was my first choice, so I'm looking for something a bit more compact like a cross trainer or an exercise bike. Would like to increase aerobic fitness mainly, but also tone up and become leaner and fitter. I'm not overweight (5'4" and weigh 49kg) and fairly active (fast walk about 4-5 miles a day). What do you think would be best?
Vibration Fitness Machines? A friend of mine has started using a Power Plate and has been ranting and raving about the incredible results. And it's true, she has used it 5 times and I have felt the difference in her biceps. Has anybody used one long-term and can you vouch for their effectiveness especially re. abs and bum?
What are workouts I can do with an elliptical fitness machine? I have a little excercise machine at my condo along with a treadmill. I want to tone and build a little leg and upper body muscle. I just don't know how. Ok I guess my question is how or what site can I go on for the fitness machine, it has everything but I don't know how to use it or what to do, and the little poster they give doesn't really help.
Home fitness machines?????? I have an air walker, abz shaper and exercise bike. What benefits do each have and are they aiding cardio vascular, toning and upper body workouts. I am not trying to weight train as such, just tone up a little bit more and get more fit for the summer. I want to work the majority of my body but am not interested in weight training. Does the air walker and exercise bike do the same or does the air walker do more upper body.

What is the best aerobic machine for overall fitness? I'm thinking about getting an eliptical or a treadmill. I figure running on a treadmill is a better aerobic workout, but it doesn't work as many muscle groups as an eliptical. I'm torn between the two. And are there other types of machines I should consider? I don't need to lose weight. I want something that is more for performance.
I want an excersize / fitness machine for at home, something easy to store and easy to use, any suggestions? I saw the air climber on an infomercial, but can't find any reviews on it. Has anyone used it? Also, I want something small that is easy to store and something that gives cardio plus toning....help! I also have had many abdominal surgeries and am a hernia risk so I have to be careful about doing too much ab work, I am not allowed to do crunches so something that helped the abs without overworking or straining them would be great.
